Trump, Xi look forward to trade progress over phone call

Washington D.C [USA], Dec 30 (ANI): United States President Donald Trump said that in a recent telephonic conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping, the two leaders are looking forward to the progress made by the trade agreements signed between the US and China during the G-20 summit in Argentina held earlier in December.

Washington D.C [USA], Dec 30 (ANI): United States President Donald Trump said that in a recent telephonic conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping, the two leaders are looking forward to the progress made by the trade agreements signed between the US and China during the G-20 summit in Argentina held earlier in December.
The US President personally took to Twitter saying, "Just had a long and very good call with President Xi of China. Deal is moving along very well. If made, it will be very comprehensive, covering all subjects, areas and points of dispute. Big progress being made!"
Xinhua news agency reported that the US President wished the Chinese people for the forthcoming new year and said that the enhancement in the US-China relations should also be a priority in the cards as both the US and China are two among the major world economies till date.
The US President also noted that the consensus reached between the two countries at the G 20 summit would not only be beneficial for the Chinese people but also for people of all nations. Therefore, it is important to implement the consensus as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, on the other side, the Chinese Premier also extended best wishes to the US President and his people for the upcoming New Year. Xi also hoped for stable progress of the China-US relations which is beneficial for the bilateral relations of the two countries.
The year 2019 would mark 40 years of diplomatic relations between the US and China and so both the countries are willing to undertake new exchanges and cooperation in fields of economy and trade, military, law enforcement, anti-drug operations, local issues and culture.
The two leaders also expressed common concern over issues including the situation in the Korean Peninsula. The Chinese Premier also stated that China would encourage and hope for positive results if any talks happen between the US and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.(ANI)
