Trump thanks CNN's 'crazy' Jim Acosta

Washington D.C. [U.S.A.], Jan 24 (ANI): United States President Donald Trump on Tuesday thanked the CNN's Chief White House Correspondent, Jim Acosta, for his "honesty" over tweeting about the president's success in the shutdown showdown against Democrats.

"Even Crazy Jim Acosta of Fake News CNN agrees: 'Trump World and WH sources dancing in end zone: Trump wins again...Schumer and Dems caved...gambled and lost.' Thank you for your honesty Jim!" Trump, lettered in a Twitter post.

Trump was apparently referring to one of the Tweets by Acosta.

"Trump world and WH sources dancing in end zone: Trump wins again... Schumer and Dems caved... gambled and lost," Acosta had tweeted.

Acosta has frequently sparred with White House officials, sometimes talking over officials in press briefings and has become a favorite target of Trump, who often throws flak at the media.

One of Acosta's most heated exchanges with the White House took place during a conversation about immigration with Trump's senior policy adviser Stephen Miller, according to Business Insider.

Earlier on Monday, Trump signed the funding bill into law that officially ended the three-day government shutdown on Monday.

The Democrats and Republicans agreed to pass a short-term spending bill of at least three weeks, to allow the funding of the government until February 8. The final vote stood at 81-18.

The White House announced that the United States Government will be running at its full strength from Tuesday. (ANI)
