Washington D. C. [USA], Dec 7 (ANI): US President Donald Trump nominated Heather Nauert, the Spokeswoman of the United States Department of State, as the next United Nations Ambassador on Friday while nominating William P Barr as the next Attorney General of the United States.
Nauert will be succeeding Nikki Haley as the US Ambassador to the UN, whose resignation from the post was confirmed by Trump in October this year.
"I am pleased to announce that Heather Nauert, Spokeswoman for the United States Department of State, will be nominated to serve as United Nations Ambassador. I want to congratulate Heather, and thank Ambassador Nikki Haley for her great service to our Country!," Trump tweeted on December 7.

Haley congratulated Nauert for the nomination and tweeted, "Congratulations to Heather Nauert on her nomination by the President to be the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. We wish you well and look forward to supporting you through the transition and beyond."

He further nominated William P Barr as the Attorney General of the United States.

Experts are expecting more announcements to follow suit, as they are anticipating a reshuffle in the power dynamics of the national security team, especially with reports of White House chief of staff John Kelly's resignation doing the rounds.
Quoting sources, CNN reported that Kelly may resign in the coming days with Trump and Kelly's relationship hitting a wall, as both of them have stopped speaking to each other. (ANI)
