Tokyo court upholds decision to grant Carlos Ghosn bail

Tokyo [Japan], Mar 5 (ANI): A Tokyo court on Tuesday upheld its decision to grant bail to Nissan Motor's former chairman Carlos Ghosn. His bail has been set at USD 9 million.
Ghosn, however, is not allowed to leave Japan, reports NHK World.
The previous 2 bail requests filed by Ghosn had been rejected, leading to the former Nissan chief spending over a hundred days in a Tokyo jail.
Other bail conditions include installing a camera at the entrance of Ghosn's residence. He is also only allowed to use a computer at his lawyer's office, while the internet on his phone has been blocked.
Nissan, on the other hand, will be continuing its in-house investigation into the misappropriation of funds and any other improprieties by Ghosn.
Findings from the probe will be reported to the board of directors this month. Nissan may seek damage compensation from its former Chairman.
Ghosn has been detained in Tokyo since November 19. He has been indicted on charges - which he has denied - of aggravated breach of trust and under-reporting his remuneration for the Japanese carmaker.
If found guilty, Ghosn may have to spend up to 15 years in jail. (ANI)
