Vice President Venkaiah Naidu

Lima [Peru], May 12 (ANI): India and Peru on Friday recognized that terrorism must be condemned in all its forms and countries aiding terrorists should be isolated.
Vice President Venkaiah Naidu yesterday held a bilateral meeting with Peru's Foreign Minister Nestor Francisco Popolizio Bardales in Lima and discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest.
Since both India and Peru have been the victims of terrorism, the leaders reached a common consensus that terrorism should be condemned in all its forms and those who aid terrorists should be isolated, said Preeti Saran, Secretary (East), Ministry of External Affairs, told media in Lima yesterday.
Vice President Naidu also shared the decision with the President of the Congress to establish parliamentary friendship group with the Latin American region. Peru will be an important region, in this regard, Saran said.
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also exchanged between the two countries.
Vice President Venkaiah Naidu on Friday arrived in Peru where he met Peru's President Martín Vizcarra at the Presidential Palace in Lima.
Vice President Naidu, who is on a five-day visit to Central America's Guatemala, Panama and Peru, departed from Panama for Peru on Thursday.
He reached Panama on April 9 where India and Panama signed two Memorandum of Understandings (MoU).
Before visiting Panama, the Vice President was in Guatemala where India and Guatemala signed a MoU for expanding cooperation in the area of diplomatic training.
Vice President Naidu's three-nation visit commenced on May 6. The agenda of visiting these places is to enhance bilateral ties with the country.
This is the Vice President's first overseas visit after assuming office last year. (ANI)
