Taliban to release 20 Afghan government officials

India on Thursday rejected Pakistan's allegations of aggravating skirmishes with Afghanistan, calling them "baseless" and accusing Pakistan of blaming others for its own misdeeds.

The Trump administration has launched "unfair trade practice" probes into 16 nations, including India and China, to reinstate tariff pressure. Top Iranian officials, including the Foreign Minister and Parliament Speaker, have pledged absolute allegiance to the new Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei. Following a "decisive vote" by the Assembly of Experts, leaders hailed the transition as a "legal process" ensuring national security and revolutionary continuity against external threats.

Iran's Assembly of Experts has reached a majority consensus on a successor to the late Ayatollah Khamenei, though wartime "obstacles" remain. While a leadership council currently governs, officials denied reports that Mojtaba Khamenei was selected. A three-day funeral ceremony for the 86-year-old leader begins tonight in Tehran.
