Kabul [Afghanistan], Dec 10 (ANI): In an attempt to promote talks over peace negotiation with the Taliban, Jamiat-e-Islami party of Afghanistan here on Monday informed that a plan comprising of five factions has been prepared.
The five factions include the resistance faction, the political parties, the government, the Taliban and civil society institution, Tolo News reported.
Previously some of the political parties of Afghanistan had informed that independent peace negotiating teams had been established in order to talk to the Taliban.
Salahuddin Rabbani led Jamiat-e-Islami, General Abdul Rashid Dostum-led The National Islamic Movement of Afghanistan and Gulbuddin Hekmatyar-led Hizb-e-Islami are the three parties which created separate teams to negotiate with the Taliban insurgents.
According to the political committee of Jamiat-e-Islami, the way to find a settlement to the conflict is for the five factions to sit together.
Tolo News quoted Abdul Hafiz Mansour, the head of Jamiat-e-Islami as saying: "Our experiment shows that individualism and singleness do not help to settle an issue".
The Afghan political parties wish to continue talks with Taliban separately from the government's peace plan.
Adding on this Bashir Ahmad Tayyanj, spokesman for The National Islamic Movement of Afghanistan said, "The mechanism which is offered by the government for peace is incomplete."
Earlier in December, United States Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad embarked on an eight-nation tour to facilitate the peace process in Afghanistan.
Khalilzad met with Afghan government officials and other interested parties to support and facilitate an inclusive peace process in the country. (ANI)
