Swaraj addresses European Parliament on International Yoga Day

Brussels [Belgium], June 21 (ANI): External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj addressed the European Parliament in Brussels on the occasion of the fourth International Yoga Day on Thursday.

Brussels [Belgium], June 21 (ANI): External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj addressed the European Parliament in Brussels on the occasion of the fourth International Yoga Day on Thursday.
Addressing the gathering, Sushma hailed the practice of yoga as the "most powerful means for uniting India."
Reiterating the concept of Vasudev Kutumbakam (The world is one), Swaraj said: "If the concept represents the finest representation of India, Yoga represents most powerful means for United India."
Meanwhile, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted, "Taking yoga to the world! EAM @SushmaSwaraj speaking at the inauguration of #InternationalYogaDay2018 at the Yehudi Menuhin Space in the European Parliament in #Brussels. #ZindagiRaheKhush."



Spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, who was also present at the event, conducted a yoga session post the address.
Meanwhile, Minister of State for External Affairs General VK Singh, along with Heads of Missions, took part in Yoga Day celebrations at Pravasi Bhartiya Diwas in New Delhi.
"Embracing the ancient holistic approach to health and wellness! Accompanied by Heads of Missions and diplomats from various countries based in New Delhi, MoS @Gen_VKSingh led the celebrations of International Day of Yoga at Pravasi Bharatiya Kendra" Kumar tweeted.


On a related note, Sushma is currently on the last leg of her four-nation week-long tour.
The External Affairs Minister will return to India on June 23. (ANI)
