SUV crashes into crowd in Melbourne, 15 injured

Melbourne [Australia], Dec 21 (ANI): At least 15 people were injured after a car crashed into a group of people in Melbourne on Thursday.

The police have cordoned off the area.

According to The Age, a white SUV mowed down a number of people at a busy intersection of Flinders and Elizabeth streets in Melbourne's CBD. The injured were rushed to the nearby hospital.

The Melbourne Police have arrested the driver and are further investigating terrorism angle into the incident as an officer at the scene described it as a terrorist incident. However, it has not been confirmed so far if the driver had terror motive.

The car was not travelling at high speed when crashed, said the police. (ANI)
