Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], April 22 (ANI): Mahesh Kumar Sharma, a guide who assisted US Vice President JD Vance at Jaipur's Amber Fort, said that it was a proud moment for him. Sharma, who has been a tour guide for nearly 18 years, said that such visits make an international impact.
"First of all, we are very proud that they selected this place. And when they were there, it was a momentous moment for all of us because such visits make a huge impact internationally. They brought a positive energy with them, especially their kids," he said.
Sharma said that Vance enjoyed the cultural performances there in Amber Fort. He was welcomed by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari.
"When he arrived at Amber Fort, he was welcomed by the CM and the Deputy CM. After that, the elephants at Amber Fort welcomed them. They also enjoyed the cultural performances here at the Fort. The Second Family of the US enjoyed Kutchi Ghodi Dance, Kalbelia dance and Ghoomar dance. Vance was interested, and this was the biggest moment," he said.
Sharma shared a beautiful moment between Vance and his daughter. He said that Vance was awestruck by the beauty of Jaleb Chowk. When his daughter could not reach up to the height, he picked her up.
"When the Vance family entered the Amber Palace and passed through the Diwan-e-Aam, they saw Jaleb Chowk, and he was impressed. He then picked his daughter up and showed her the view. The act showed how interested he was in the view. The family even explored all the parts of the palace and appreciated it," he said.
Sharma said that the Vice President's family spent quite a long time at the Fort, and while leaving, he thanked all the performers, guides and all the officers.
"The family, even after spending 1.5 hours in the palace, used the stairs to get down instead of the red carpet ramp. The family also thanked the entire crew- the dancers, organisers, etc, with utmost humility. This was a positive gesture from them. Even in the scorching heat, they were interested in fully exploring the place. They explored the place as if it were their own home," he said. (ANI)
