Strengthening relations with Cambodia is one of Vietnam's top priorities

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) has announced an emergency assistance package worth approximately USD 740,000 to support efforts to protect cultural heritage and sustain education in areas of Vietnam heavily affected by a series of severe storms in November 2025.

Speaking this week, Anutin said MoU 43, signed in 2000, which covers land border demarcation, and MoU 44, signed in 2001, dealing with overlapping maritime areas, should be revised or replaced altogether. He suggested a new, updated framework -- potentially under a different title -- that would reflect modern surveying methods and clearer legal principles.

While addressing a press conference in Florida, Trump said, "I settled eight and one-quarter wars. You know what the one quarter was? Thailand and Cambodia."

As per the Ministry of Defence, the two discussed cooperation initiatives under the India-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

US President Donald Trump welcomed the Thailand-Cambodia ceasefire after weeks of deadly border clashes. The agreement, supported by ASEAN mediation, includes an immediate halt to fighting, de-escalation measures, humanitarian cooperation and commitments to uphold international agreements.
