External Affairs Minister (EAM) Sushma Swaraj

New Delhi [India], Jul 6 (ANI): A Sikh, Iqbal Singh, who was injured in the suicide blast in Afghanistan's Jalalabad last week, has been admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here.
External Affairs Minister (EAM) Sushma Swaraj tweeted that Singh's condition is stable.
"Sardar Iqbal Singh injured in Afghanistan blast has been admitted in the AIIMS Trauma Centre. His condition is stable. We wish him an early recovery," she wrote on the micro-blogging site.

On July 1, a suicide bombing in eastern Afghanistan's Jalalabad city killed at least 19 people, mostly Sikhs and Hindus. The deceased include Avtar Singh, the only Sikh candidate for the Afghan parliament.
Nangarhar police chief Ghulam Sanaei Stanikzai was quoted by Pajhwok Afghan News as saying that the suicide bomber detonated his explosives when the delegation was on its way to the governor's house in three vehicles and to meet President Ashraf Ghani, who was on a visit to Jalalabad.
India has asked Afghanistan to step up the security of minorities linked to Indian origin in the wake of the Jalalabad attack.
The bombing has rattled the Sikh community all over the world. Special prayers and 'ardas' are being organised in gurudwaras.
According to various media reports, some members of the minority Sikh community in Afghanistan, are mulling to move to neighbouring India after the deadly attack. (ANI)
