Saudi woman drowns in Sri Lanka

Dubai [UAE], June 26 (ANI): A 24-year-old Saudi woman, drowned in a river in Sri Lanka when she was taking a boat trip during a family vacation in the island.

Dubai [UAE], June 26 (ANI): A 24-year-old Saudi woman, drowned in a river in Sri Lanka when she was taking a boat trip during a family vacation in the island.
Haya Al Dofairi decided to take a trip across a local river on an inflatable boat which capsized in the river leaving the family of eight struggling to swim across the river's current, as per Al Arabiya.
Seven members of Al Dofairi's family were rescued but the young woman was nowhere to be found.
Fifteen hours later, her body was found following which she was declared dead.
Saudi Arabia's embassy in Sri Lanka sent their condolences to the victim's family, finalizing all procedures needed to take her back home for burial. (ANI)
