Russia thanks US over airline assistance

Moscow [Russia], Jan 7 (ANI): Russia on Sunday expressed its gratitude to the United States (US) for the swift assistance in resolving the situation with the Russian Airlines.

The Russian Airlines Aeroflot flights were delayed in Washington DC due to unfavorable weather conditions.

"We thank our colleagues from @USApoRusski (the US Department of State's Russian-language account on Twitter) for their response and prompt assistance," the Russian Embassy tweeted.

The Russian Embassy in the United States had turned to the US Department of States for assistance. "In order to speed up the departure of Aeroflot flights, which were delayed due to bad weather conditions," wrote the embassy.

According to TASS, Aeroflot on Saturday, had announced that its flights were rerouted from their initial destination in New York to the Dulles airport in Washington due to adverse weather conditions. (ANI)
