London [United Kingdom], May 18 (ANI): Prince Charles will walk Meghan Markle down the aisle at the royal wedding on Saturday.
"Ms. Meghan Markle has asked His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales to accompany her down the aisle of the Quire of St George's Chapel on her wedding day," a statement issued by Kensington Palace read.
"The Prince of Wales is pleased to be able to welcome Ms. Markle to the royal family in this way," the statement added.
This development came after the reports surfaced that former Hollywood lighting director and Meghan Markel's father Thomas Markle has refused to attend her daughter's wedding to Prince Harry.
As reported by the Sky News, Thomas took this decision after some pictures were released which showed him colluding with photographers which left him "deeply embarrassed".
Following this, the official Twitter handle of the Royal spokesperson Charlie Proctor said it is a personal moment for the family while requesting the people to understand Thomas.
"This is a deeply personal moment for Ms Markle in the days before her wedding. She and Prince Harry ask again for understanding and respect to be extended to Mr Markle in this difficult situation", the statement read.
Thomas Markel had reportedly suffered a heart attack but checked himself out earlier to prepare for the wedding.
Later, a couple of pictures were leaked depicting Thomas was caught unawares being measured for his wedding suit, looking at pictures of his daughter and her husband-to-be at an internet cafe, and reading a book about Britain while out having a coffee.
As per media reports, Thomas is known to be a private person, a fact that had worried Meghan about how would he handle the pressures of being in a constant limelight.
Meghan's mother Ragland is reported to stay with Meghan at the Cliveden House Hotel upon her arrival.
Meghan and Prince Harry are set to tie a knot on May 19 at England's Windsor Castle.(ANI)

MEA rejects Pakistan’s statement on India-Canada deal

"We reject this statement made by Pakistan on the matter. India's credentials regarding non-proliferation are impeccable and well recognised by the global community. A country with a well-documented history of clandestine nuclear proliferation can hardly preach the virtues of export controls and proliferation risks. Such ludicrous statements are nothing more than an attempt by Pakistan to distract from its own abysmal record," he said.
