President Kovind arrives in Equatorial Guinea on historic visit

President Kovind arrives in Equatorial Guinea on historic visit

Malabo [Equatorial Guinea], Apr 7 (ANI): President Ram Nath Kovind on Saturday arrived at the capital of Equatorial Guinea as a part of his three-nation Africa tour.

This is the first time ever that a head of state from India is visiting Equatorial Guinea.

The President is accompanied by his wife and First Lady Savita Kovind. They were received by Equatorial Guinean President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.

A welcome ceremony was organised in President Kovind's honour and he was accorded a ceremonial reception.

President Kovind is on a three-nation state visit to the African countries of Equatorial Guinea, Swaziland and Zambia from April 7 to 12.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), the President, who will be in Equatorial Guinea from April 7 to 9, will address the country's Parliament on April 8 after meeting his counterpart during the delegation-level talks.

President Obiang will host an official banquet lunch for President Kovind.

The President will also address the Indian community at a reception organised by the Embassy of India. (ANI)
