Pakistan's Pashtuns hold mass rally despite no permission

Supporters of the Tibetan movement from across India gathered in McLeodganj on Wednesday to offer long life prayers for Tibetan spiritual leader Tenzin Gyatso. The exhibition displayed a series of photographs and visual documentation portraying the hardships faced by religious and ethnic minorities, including Hindus, Christians, Sindhis, and Balochs, it also highlighted the constant oppression in Balochistan through enforced disappearances of young individuals, including both men and women, as well as forced conversions of minorities in Pakistan and arrests of several political leaders including Dr Mahrang Baloch. The exhibition aimed to draw international attention to what they described as systemic discrimination and political repression affecting these communities. Human Rights Focus Pakistan (HRFP) held a condolence reference for renowned activist Joseph Francis, a pioneer for minority rights. Over 40 years, he fought against forced conversions and blasphemy laws. His legacy as a fearless leader for justice and equality continues to inspire human rights defenders across Pakistan.

The US Embassy in Pakistan issued a security alert ahead of the planned large-scale religious processions across the country, noting that the movement of all US personnel will be restricted beginning Tuesday, 12 PM (local time).
