Pakistan proposes resumption of talks with India

Islamabad [Pakistan], Nov. 16 (ANI): Pakistan has put forward a proposal to resume talks with India on all pending bilateral issues.

According to the Dawn, Foreign Office spokesperson Dr. Mohammad Faisal said Thursday that Islamabad is awaiting New Delhi's response as well as on Pakistan's offer to allow detained Indian Kulbhushan Jadhav to meet his wife.

These remarks came after India on Monday appealed to Pakistan "to provide freedom to the people of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) by ending its illegal and forceful occupation and to stop torture, enforced disappearances and unlawful killing."

The appeal was made at the third Universal Periodic Review (UPR) in the United Nations in New York.

India, in a statement, also requested Pakistan "to end forced conversions and marriages of minorities, including Hindu, Sikh and Christian women, and prosecute all cases." (ANI)
