Islamabad [Pakistan], June 29 (ANI): The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday extended the polling time for the forthcoming general elections by an hour to ensure greater participation of voters in the polling process.
The polling will now commence at 8am and end at 6pm instead of the usual 5pm, the Dawn reported, citing ECP, as saying in a statement.
Pakistan is slated to hold general elections on July 25.
The move comes barely days after Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf's (PTI) plea of extending polling hours by three hours.
According to the report, the ECP had then discarded the plea citing that "the timings were ordained by the law and there was no need for them to be extended." (ANI)

MEA rejects Pakistan’s statement on India-Canada deal

"We reject this statement made by Pakistan on the matter. India's credentials regarding non-proliferation are impeccable and well recognised by the global community. A country with a well-documented history of clandestine nuclear proliferation can hardly preach the virtues of export controls and proliferation risks. Such ludicrous statements are nothing more than an attempt by Pakistan to distract from its own abysmal record," he said.
