Pak rubbishes reports of DGMO-level meet with India

Islamabad [Pakistan], Jan 18 (ANI): Pakistan has rubbished the reports of conducting a Director General of Military Operations (DGMO)-level meeting with India by branding them as "baseless" and "misleading."

"No meeting of DGMOs of Pakistan and Indian is being considered as of now as reported by a section of media. The news is baseless and misleading," said, Pakistan's Ministry of Defence, in a statement.

This comes in the backdrop of several media reports which stated that Pakistan is considering a proposal for a DGMO-level meeting with India after a gap of four years to decrease tensions along the Line of Control (LoC).

In addition to this, a telephonic conversation took place between the two DGMOs following a request by the Pakistani side in November.

Pakistan-India DGMOs have a regular hotline contact, but they last met one-on-one four years ago at Wagah. (ANI)
