Islamabad [Pakistan], July 25 (ANI): Low turnout of women voters in Pakistan's 11th general election have been reported in Peshawar.
According to the Dawn, out of 1700 expected votes, only 56 have been cast so far.
Report further said that women in Swabi district of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have started casting their votes, despite a ban placed by a local jirga.
Meanwhile, there are reports that voters from the transgender community in Lahore are not being allowed to cast their vote in male polling station.
Earlier in the day, late Pakistani prime minister Benazir Bhutto's daughters Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari and Aseefa Bhutto Zardari cast their votes in Sindh's Nawabshah.
Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari took to her Twitter handle to share a picture with her younger sister, where the two showed their inked thumbs.
"Voted with @AseefaBZ this morning in #Nawabshah & inshAllah in Shaheed Benazirabad #TeerChalega #Pakistan #Elections2018 #AgliBariPirZardari @AAliZardari," she tweeted.
Benazir Bhutto's husband Asif Ali Zardari is contesting from NA-213 constituency.
Nearly 106 million registered voters will cast their vote to choose the new government in Pakistan.
As many as 12,570 candidates are contesting for 272 national and 577 provincial assembly seats. (ANI)
