Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan's ousted Prime Minister

Lahore [Pakistan], June 14 (ANI): The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) will issue a final list of party ticket holders for the upcoming general assembly elections slated for July 25, after Eid-ul-Fitr.
The PML-N held a high-level meeting of the senior leaders, which included party president Shehbaz Sharif and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, to finalise the election candidates in Lahore's Jati Umrah, the Express Tribune reported, citing anonymous sources.
"PML-N is the only party that held hundreds of interviews for 86 hours from June 4 to June 11 and the candidates were provided full opportunity to prove their public service work, political struggle and eligibility," the report quoted Shehbaz, as saying.
The candidates were finalised after weeklong meetings of the party's parliamentary board.
The consultation process comes to halt on Thursday as Sharif along with his daughter Maryam Nawaz, left to visit Sharif's wife Kulsoom Nawaz, who is currently undergoing cancer treatment at a hospital in London on Thursday morning.
The father-daughter duo is expected to spend Eid holidays with Kulsoom and other family members in the city, as per The Express Tribune. (ANI)

MEA rejects Pakistan’s statement on India-Canada deal

"We reject this statement made by Pakistan on the matter. India's credentials regarding non-proliferation are impeccable and well recognised by the global community. A country with a well-documented history of clandestine nuclear proliferation can hardly preach the virtues of export controls and proliferation risks. Such ludicrous statements are nothing more than an attempt by Pakistan to distract from its own abysmal record," he said.
