Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani and Pakistan COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa

Kabul [Afghanistan], June 13 (ANI): Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani met with Pakistan Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa and other visiting delegation in Kabul on Tuesday.
According to Tolo News, Ghani and Bajwa discussed the implementation of the Afghanistan-Pakistan Action Plan for Peace, ways to combat terrorism, reducing violence and the Afghan-owned peace process, Ghani's deputy spokesman Shahussain Murtazawi said.
This comes after Pakistan's President Mamnoon Hussain on Sunday said that Pakistan and Afghanistan will work together to draft a detailed strategy for establishing peace in Afghanistan.
Hussain said this at a session of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Qingdao.
"Pakistan and Afghanistan are working on a comprehensive strategy on a bilateral basis to establish peace in Afghanistan," Hussain said.
"Peace and stability in Afghanistan is our common objective and Pakistan is playing its due role in this regard," he further added.
On Monday, Pakistan and Afghanistan had agreed to deploy liaison officers in each other's capital. Ground Coordination Centers (GCCs) will be established at Torkham and Chaman for intelligence sharing and to monitor the cross-border movement of the militants.
The director generals of Military Operations (DGMOs) of the two countries met in Pakistan's Rawalpindi to explore ways for further cooperation in security areas. (ANI)
