Officials at SCO headquarters to participate in yoga event

Qingdao (Shandong) [China], Jun 9 (ANI): Few days ahead of the International Yoga Day, the officials posted at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) headquarters in Beijing, China, will together practice various asanas of yoga.

Qingdao (Shandong) [China], Jun 9 (ANI): Few days ahead of the International Yoga Day, the officials posted at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) headquarters in Beijing, China, will together practice various asanas of yoga.
The practice will be held on June 16, as conveyed by SCO Secretary-General Rashid Alimov during a meeting on the sildelines of ongoing SCO summit in the city.
External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said in a tweet that Alimov is a yoga enthusiast as he cited the latter's visit to one of Delhi's yoga centre in May.
"Yoga for mind and body! International Day of Yoga will be celebrated at SCO Headquarters in Beijing on 16 June as conveyed by Secretary-General SCO Alimov during his meeting. A yoga enthusiast, he is seen striking a yoga pose at a yoga centre during his visit to Delhi last month" Kumar tweeted.



The International Yoga Day, which is celebrated on June 21, is a three-year-old initiative that has been recognized by the United Nations General Assembly. (ANI)
