Kathmandu [Nepal], Oct 11 (ANI/RSS): More than 21,000 websites offering pornographic contents have been shut down in Nepal so far following the government banning porn sites, according to the Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA).
The Nepal government has cracked down on pornographic websites in view of increasing incidents of rape and sexual harassments in the country.
The NTA started banning such websites from September 24 acting on the direction by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to ban sharing, distribution and broadcasting port content through any medium. There are over 100 internet service providers operating in Nepal. Nepal's law mentions pornographic content as illegal. (ANI/RSS)
