Karachi [Pakistan], Jul 28 (ANI): Two accused police officers - sub-inspector Muhammad Yaseen and ASI (assistant sub-inspector of police) Sapurd Hussain were granted bail by an anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Saturday in connection to the murder of Naqeebullah Mehsud.
The court directed both policemen to pay (Pakistani) Rs. 0.2 million in bail bonds. The ATC further said that it would decide the bail plea of former Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Qamar Ahmed of Malir district on August 18, Geo News reported.
As of now, four police personnel accused in the murder case, including former senior superintendent of police (SSP) of Malir district, Rao Anwar, have secured bails from the ATC.
Earlier on July 10, Anwar, the main accused in the case, was granted bail. Anwar and other police officers are in the dock for killing at least four men, during what they claimed was a raid on a suspected Taliban hideout in Karachi, as per the Geo News report.
Relatives of Naqeebullah, a 27-year-old shopkeeper from South Waziristan tribal district rejected claims of him having militant links and maintained that he was an aspiring model who had been a resident of Karachi since 2008. They added that Naqeebullah was looking for a job and had been running a shop in the city.
Naqeebullah and two others were killed in January this year in what was later termed as a 'fake encounter' by the police. His killing evoked a national outcry in Pakistan and triggered protest rallies in several cities. (ANI)

MEA rejects Pakistan’s statement on India-Canada deal

"We reject this statement made by Pakistan on the matter. India's credentials regarding non-proliferation are impeccable and well recognised by the global community. A country with a well-documented history of clandestine nuclear proliferation can hardly preach the virtues of export controls and proliferation risks. Such ludicrous statements are nothing more than an attempt by Pakistan to distract from its own abysmal record," he said.
