Nangarhar: 16 wounded in multiple blasts

As per UNAMA, Pakistani forces carried out aerial strikes in the Behsud and Khogyani districts of Nangarhar Province. Initial findings suggest that at least 13 civilians lost their lives and seven others were wounded. The mission stated that women and children were among the deceased, TBP reported.

UNAMA and Amnesty report civilian casualties following Pakistani airstrikes in Afghanistan's Nangarhar and Paktika provinces. While Islamabad claims the "precise" strikes "neutralised" 70 militants linked to TTP and Daesh, the UN mission confirms 13 civilians killed and calls for an immediate end to hostilities to protect lives.

In a post on X by Amnesty International South Asia, the organisation said it was "deeply concerned by the reports of civilian casualties caused by Pakistan's airstrike in Nangarhar province of Afghanistan on 21 and 22 February."

More than 80 people were killed in Pakistan's airstrikes at the seven locations in Afghanistan's Nangarhar, Paktika and Khost provinces.

In a post on X, the Ministry said the envoy was called in following strikes that it alleged resulted in "dozens" of casualties.

The International Human Rights Foundation reported that a Pakistani airstrike hit a civilian home in Behsud, killing at least 16 family members. Pakistan said strikes targeted militant hideouts. The IHRF called it a violation of international law and demanded an independent investigation.
