Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Raveesh Kumar

Beijing [China], June 18 (ANI): Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Raveesh Kumar refuted the statement made by Chinese Ambassador to India Luo Zhaohui, suggesting an India-Pakistan-China trilateral summit.
Kumar said that the Indian government has not received any direction from its Chinese counterpart regarding such a trilateral summit.
"We have seen reports on comments made by the Chinese Ambassador in this matter. We have not received any such suggestion from the Chinese government" Kumar said in an MEA release.
He further said the statement made by the ambassador is considered personal and the Indo-Pak matters are "purely bilateral in nature and have no scope for the involvement of any third country".
Earlier in the day, Luo proposed the trilateral summit as he said, "If China-Russia-Mongolia trilateral is possible then why don't we try working China-India-Pakistan out."
Luo further emphasised on 5Cs- communication, cooperation, contacts, coordination and control that can help promote China-India relations.
Earlier this month, the presidents of China, Russia, and Mongolia pledged to strengthen trilateral cooperation during their meeting at Qingdao.
They reviewed the achievements of trilateral cooperation and discussed priority tasks and directions for the next phase, as per a report by Xinhua. (ANI)
