Low-level of politics dangerous for Pak: Bilawal

Islamabad [Pakistan], Jul 17 (ANI): Pakistan People's Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto on Tuesday took on those exchanging in war of words, saying that such low-level of politics was dangerous for the country's future.
Addressing media here, Bilawal was quoted by Geo TV as saying, "The current low-level of politics is very dangerous for the future of our country. Our country cannot afford this kind of politics. It is hurting Pakistan."
Taking a dig at Shehbaz Sharif-led Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), he added: "If prominent leaders engage in such exchanges then the youth will think that this is how one is supposed to act".
The Bhutto scion underscored that his party was focusing on tackling the problems faced by Pakistan.
"We need to appraise the nation of the problems the country is facing because if we do not involve the public then how will we get out of these problems," Bilawal further said.
He expressed concerns over some candidates associated with banned organisations who will contest the general elections on July 25.
"Unfortunately, by allowing candidates of banned organisations to take part in the election, extremists have been given space," Bilawal was quoted by The Dawn as saying.
Ruling out a delay in holding the elections, Bilawal stated that the polls would be held as per the schedule, despite the election-related suicide attacks that have rocked Pakistan in the past few days.
Earlier on Monday, Bilawal visited slain Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) leader Siraj Raisani's house in Quetta, who was among the 140 killed in the Mastung suicide blast last week.
"Security should be the top priority of the caretaker government. We were told that terrorism has been eliminated but terror attacks are occurring before polls. The upcoming elections are being contested in an environment of fear," Bilawal stressed.
He added that Pakistan would "defeat terrorists through the power of their vote on July 25." (ANI)
