London [UK], Feb 3 (ANI): President of Jammu Kashmir National Independence Alliance (JKNIA) Mahmood Kashmiri on Sunday announced that his party will hold protests against the visit of Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi to London to attend a summit on Kashmir.
Qureshi is expected to participate in Pakistan-backed conference on Kashmir to be held in the British parliament and other venues on February 4 and 5.
In a video released on Sunday, the JKNIA leader said that JKNIA will hold protest against Pakistan over its occupation of Jammu and Kashmir.
The leader went on to add that in regions of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Gilgit Baltistan, people are not granted their freedom and rights as Islamabad continues to exploit their resources.
"Students are not allowed to read books on Jammu and Kashmir as such books are confiscated. Similarly, in Gilgit Baltistan, people are not allowed to raise their voices against the Federal government of Pakistan. Court cases and sedition charges are filed against those raise their voices against the state," the JKNIA leader said.
"This is a fraud by the Pakistan government on our people. We have decided to protest against this."
"We want to inform the Pakistan government to remove its control from our people and our land. This protest from our side will continue until Pakistan decontrols Jammu and Kashmir," Kashmiri added.
According to reports, Qureshi will participate in the United Kingdom House of Commons’ debate, slated to be held on February 4, and will also attend an exhibition on Kashmir in Park Lane on Tuesday, February 5.
Qureshi had in his remarks stated several times that Kashmir has been the cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy and the stance of the Pakistan government is very clear over the issue. (ANI)

MEA rejects Pakistan’s statement on India-Canada deal

"We reject this statement made by Pakistan on the matter. India's credentials regarding non-proliferation are impeccable and well recognised by the global community. A country with a well-documented history of clandestine nuclear proliferation can hardly preach the virtues of export controls and proliferation risks. Such ludicrous statements are nothing more than an attempt by Pakistan to distract from its own abysmal record," he said.
