Indian, Singaporean navies sign agreement on logistics cooperation

Singapore City [Singapore], June 01 (ANI): Emphasising on the strengthened bilateral defence ties between India and Singapore, latter's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong underscored that the navies of two countries on Friday signed an agreement on logistics cooperation.

Singapore City [Singapore], June 01 (ANI): Emphasising on the strengthened bilateral defence ties between India and Singapore, latter's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong underscored that the navies of two countries on Friday signed an agreement on logistics cooperation.
"Our defence ties have strengthened, our navies have signed an agreement today on logostics cooperation and will also celebrate 25th anniversary of annual Singapore-India maritime bilateral exercise this year," Singapore Prime Minister Lee announced, in a joint press statement issued along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Istana, the official residence and office of the President of Singapore Halimah Yacob.
The Singapore Prime Minister also dwelled upon the Andhra Pradesh Amaravati city project, saying that it is "progressing well" with the Singapore Consortium.
"We also recently launched Maharashtra-Singapore joint committee ready to explore economic cooperation including planning and development of an airport in Pune," he added.
Prime Minister Lee also underscored that the two countries are collaborating on smart cities and skill development at both national and state level.
After the joint presser, Prime Minister Lee will host an official lunch in honour of Prime Minister Modi.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Modi was accorded ceremonial welcome at Istana.
Prime Minister Modi landed in Singapore on Thursday, where he received a rousing welcome from the crowd, most of them Indian, as he reached Hotel Fullerton on arriving in Singapore.
Before Singapore, Prime Minister visited Indonesia and Malaysia in a bid to enhance India's relations and engagements with the three countries, who are members of the ASEAN.
In Indonesia, 15 MoUs between the two countries were signed and in Kuala Lampur, he met with the newly appointed Malaysian Prime Minister, Mahathir Bin Mohamad.(ANI)
