Glimpse of Harimau Shakti 2018 exercise

Kuala Lumpur [Malaysia] May 2 (ANI): Indian Army contingent has been trained to pitch bivouac under the ongoing Harimau Shakti 2018 exercise.

On May 1, there were heavy rains but despite the inclement weather condition, the Indian contingent had hands-on experience to pitch bivouac in such conditions at Wardieburn Camp.

This training is essential for jungle survival as part of any operations in jungle terrain. The class was conducted by Major Hafizul, the training officer of 12 Brigade. He used natural resources available within the camp to pitch the bivouac.

Fieldcraft and battle craft are one of the most essentials of any fighting fit army in the world.

On May 1, as part of the cross training phase, practical training in various forms of field craft and battle craft was conducted at the Wardieburn Camp by the instructor staff from the Army Combat Training centre.

Major Magen Raj instructor from this prestigious training centre, now posted with the 1 Royal Ranger Regiment, conducted the training of Indian Army contingent.

The Indian Army contingent is being represented by 4 Grenadiers also known in the army circle as the Fighting Fourth. Historically the battalion is known for one of India's revered hero PVC CQMH Abdul Hamid. The Battalion has rich experience in Counter Insurgency/Counter Terrorism Operations. (ANI)
