India, Nepal discuss petro pipeline extension

Kathmandu [Nepa], Sept 28 (RSS/ANI): Acting Prime Minister Ishwor Pokhrel and visiting Indian Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Dharmendra Pradhan, on Friday held a meeting on the issue of progress in the extension of petroleum pipelines between the two countries.

Kathmandu [Nepa], Sept 28 (RSS/ANI): Acting Prime Minister Ishwor Pokhrel and visiting Indian Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Dharmendra Pradhan, on Friday held a meeting on the issue of progress in the extension of petroleum pipelines between the two countries.
During the meeting, that took place at the Defence Ministry, Singha Durbar, the Indian Minister informed the acting Prime Minister that the Indian government was ready to expedite works relating the pipeline extension from Motihari of India to Amlekhgunj of Nepal via Raxaul border, adding that works would be started after sorting out some technical issues.
Following their talks, Pokhrel said the trees cutting issue for the pipeline extension project was also discussed with the Indian minister Pradhan. Besides, the two exchanged views on the matter of completing the construction of Hetauda Polytechnic Institute supported by the Indian government soon.
Pradhan also met Nepal's Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa. Thapa said the Indian Minister's visit to Nepal would help soon complete the under-construction projects relating to Nepal-India petroleum supply. On the occasion, the Home Minister expressed his hope to get more support from India in the days to come as well. Pradhan described the under-construction bilateral petroleum products-related projects beneficial for both countries. India's Ambassador for Nepal, Manjeev Singh Puri, was also present on the occasion.
Pradhan arrived in Kathmandu on Friday morning for a two-day visit at the Invitation of Industry, Commerce and Supplies Minister, Matrika Yadav. Upon arrival at Tribhhuvan International Airport, he was received by Joint- Secretary at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Nawaraj Dhakal and Indian Ambassador for Nepal, Manjeev Singh Puri.
