New Delhi [India], December 3 (ANI): India and China continue to maintain communication through diplomatic and military channels for ensuring complete disengagement in all friction points along the LAC in Ladakh and full restoration of peace and tranquillity, External Affairs Ministry said on Thursday.
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said at the regular media briefing that both sides have agreed to another round of senior commanders meeting.
"The two sides continue to maintain communication through diplomatic and military channels with the objective of ensuring complete disengagement in all friction points along the LAC in the Western sector and full restoration of peace and tranquillity. Both sides have agreed to have another round of senior Commanders meeting at an appropriate time. As and when we have more information, we will share it with you," he said.
Answering a question about Indian workers in UAE, Srivastava said External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar's visit showed the continued close friendship between the two countries.
He said Jaishankar thanked the UAE leadership for taking care of the Indian community during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"An air bubble arrangement is in place between India and UAE and both countries expressed satisfaction that despite COVID-19 restrictions and the resultant economic issues a large number of Indians have been able to travel back to UAE," Srivastava said.
Jaishankar had embarked on a three-nation tour to Bahrain, UAE and Seychelles last month.
Asked about reports that British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will be chief guest on Republic Day, he said any such announcement is made closer to the event.
"As all of you are aware, the announcement regarding the Chief Guest for our Republic Day celebrations is made closer to the event, so as and when there is something to share, we will happy to do so," he said. (ANI)
