At the UN Human Rights Council, RSKS activist Neha urged governments to treat safe housing as a fundamental human right and address the global housing crisis. She highlighted the impact on vulnerable communities and pointed to India's Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana as an example of large-scale affordable housing efforts.

Speaking to ANI, Dharmendra highlighted that the current wave of demonstrations, which began in late December, is primarily rooted in domestic economic grievances.

"We are into the second week of the protests. They started around the end of December, and it's about 9-10 days since the protests started. Protests are not unusual in Iran. They keep happening regularly at small levels," he told ANI. "This is an economic protest driven primarily by the distressed economic situation in the country, the high inflation rates, and high unemployment."

After the meeting, Pradhan posted on X that it was "a great delight" to meet Clare and Hill. He said the talks covered the full spectrum of cooperation "from pre-school to PhD", with both sides focusing on fostering critical thinking among students and preparing them for an AI-driven future.

The discussions are expected to cover several major areas. Strengthening higher education links will be a priority, particularly the progress made by the seven Australian universities that have announced plans to set up campuses in India.
