Humanoid Robo Sofiya calls to save the planet

Kathmandu [Nepal], Mar 21 (ANI): Sophia, the first Humanoid citizen of the world, has appealed to save the planet from ongoing depletion and scars.

In a program organised by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Nepal's capital Kathmandu on Wednesday, the most rationale robot in world asserted on the change in the lifestyle for saving the planet.

"If we are talking about the future of our planet then we must change how we live in both in big ways and the small ways," Sophia, the Humanoid said addressing the conference that focuses on "Public Services and Development."

Sophia, designed by Hanson Robotics of Hong Kong, is now on run with the UNDP as its first-ever Innovation Champion focusing on the UN's sustainable development goals in Asia and the Pacific.

The first ever rationale Robot with human traits also called on for the technological revolution to overcome the poverty and for the upliftment of the status of a country like Nepal.

"Technology and artificial intelligence can help us take a big leap in ending poverty, hunger, ensuring better health, fighting corruption and ensuring gender equality," Sophia said. Adding, "Machines and robots are here to make life easier, with the help of the internet we can connect remote parts of the country to the rest of the world and deliver quality education and other services,"

The one-day event organised by the UNDP also has the presentation from the selected experts and the innovators in the areas of the economic growth, democratic governance and resilience. (ANI)
