Hyderabad (Sindh) [Pakistan], Aug 22 (ANI): Agitated members of the Hindu community from various parts of Hyderabad held a sit-in protest outside the local press club against the encroachment of their cremation site by influential figures and the police.
According to the Dawn, the protestors, led by Walji Thakur, Dr Amarshi Thakur, Dr Mohan and others, accused the police of lending a helping hand to powerful land-grabbers in the area to encroach upon parts of the cremation site near Nara Jail, and alleged that the community was not being allowed to conduct cremation on the site by the land grabbers.
Protestors also appealed to authorities to intervene and help in retrieving the encroached land, and to bring the encroachers to justice. (ANI)
