Hafiz Saeed inaugurates new party office amid protests

Lahore [Pakistan], Dec 25 (ANI): United Nations (UN)-designated terrorist and Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) Chief Hafiz Saeed inaugurated and opened an office of a subsidiary of the JuD here today.

The office of the Milli Muslim League (MML), the political face of the JuD, was inaugurated in Lahore's Mohni Road, after which he listened to the civic problems of the area faced by the people.

The opposition and the interior ministry have protested against Saeed's entry into the national political arena, given his terror links. The interior ministry has also opposed the registration of the MML as a political party terming it an offshoot of banned outfits.

The MML, which surfaced in the by-polls in September this year, gained the fourth position with votes, double than the tally of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Jamaat-i-Islami combined. It is yet to be registered with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

India has protested against Pakistan time and again for 'harbouring a terrorist' like Saeed in Pakistan. He is wanted for allegedly plotting the Mumbai attacks that took place on November 26, 2008.(ANI)
