Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani embarks on 6-day Israel visit

New Delhi [India], June 26 (ANI): Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Tuesday embarked on a six-day trip to Israel to strengthen cooperation in the fields of internal security, water management and agriculture.

Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani embarks on 6-day Israel visit

New Delhi [India], June 26 (ANI): Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Tuesday embarked on a six-day trip to Israel to strengthen cooperation in the fields of internal security, water management and agriculture">agriculture.
Rupani is accompanied by Minister of State for Agriculture Jaydrathsinhji Parmar and other senior officers from the security, agriculture">agriculture and water treatment related departments.
Israeli Ambassador to India Daniel Carmon called on Chief Minister at New Delhi International airport and briefed him in detail about Israeli proficiency in agriculture">agriculture and other sectors.
Israeli Ambassador to India Carmon told Chief Minister, "You have selected appropriate areas to study in agriculture">agriculture and other sectors during your visit to Israel".
He further said that Israel is happy to continue its strong partnership with Gujarat.
"It is a proud moment for us to host the Chief Minister of Gujarat and his delegation. We look forward to working with the Indian Federal Government, the Government of Gujarat and other States to integrate Israeli technology and innovation in Indian agriculture">agriculture innovation," according to the statement.
Gujarat Chief Minister Rupani stated to the Ambassador that his government wants to adopt Israeli technology, innovation in water management and agriculture">agriculture sectors for the benefit of people of Gujarat. The discussion was very fruitful with the Ambassador of Israel.
During the discussion with the Israeli Ambassador, Gujarat Chief Minister stated that we will set up a joint working group for follow up of the matter to be taken up for the development of the State of Gujarat and Israel and also explore investment opportunities in Gujarat in the sectors of Agro and food processing value addition.
Rupani's Israel visit will be the first by Gujarat CM in 12 years after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit in 2006.
The visit comes barely months after he hosted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in his state in January.
The purpose of the visit of the delegation is to identify opportunities for collaboration in Agriculture sector, to understand technology transfer in waste water treatment and desalination for optimal use of water resources. The delegation will also study the best practices of start up and eco-system innovation during the visit.
Israel is a major exporter of fresh produce and a world-leader in agricultural technologies despite the fact that the geography of Israel is not naturally conducive to agriculture">agriculture. The state of Gujarat will get the benefit of new agricultural technologies being used in Israel. (ANI)
