Fresh nuclear test suspected for N. Korea's earthquake

Pyongyang [North Korea], Sept. 23 (ANI): The 3.4 magnitude earthquake that hit North Korea on Saturday is said to have been caused by a fresh nuclear test.

According to media reports, the quake is believed to have been caused by a suspected explosion at same location where previous tests have been conducted in Bu North Korea.

However, South Korea's weather agency was viewing the earthquake as a natural phenomenon and said they are still examining the reasons for the quake.

Nuclear tests have earlier caused earthquakes in the Communist-dominant country.

Recently, North Korea conducted its sixth most powerful nuclear test on September 3, attracting UN sanctions and criticism from the international community.

Under Kim Jong Un's leadership, Pyongyang carried out several intercontinental ballistic missile tests, including 20 missile tests in 2016.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump taunted the previous U.S. administration on their way of handling North Korea, saying that Pyongyang's leader Kim Jong-Un should have been handled a long time ago.

President Trump at a campaign rally in Alabama, mocked Kim by continuing to call him "Rocket Man" and "Little Rocket Man",

President Trump had also called North Korean leader Kim Jong Un 'a madman' who doesn't mind starving or killing his people'.

"Kim Jong Un of North Korea, who is obviously a madman who doesn't mind starving or killing his people, will be tested like never before!" President Trump said in a tweet.

President Trump had recently ordered fresh sanctions over Pyongyang's weapons programmes and even praised China for taking an action to limit financial transactions with North Korea. (ANI)

MEA rejects Pakistan’s statement on India-Canada deal

"We reject this statement made by Pakistan on the matter. India's credentials regarding non-proliferation are impeccable and well recognised by the global community. Such ludicrous statements are nothing more than an attempt by Pakistan to distract from its own abysmal record," he said.
