Former Nepal PM Bhattarai to fly to New Delhi today for treatment

Indian students studying in Iran have begun making arrangements to leave the country amid growing safety concerns, with the first batch expected to depart for the Armenia border on Thursday as evacuation plans gradually take shape.

At the 61st session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), Petrina Lander, a medical student at the University of Oxford, in her oral statement, while addressing the annual full-day meeting on the rights of the child, called for stronger global support for holistic education systems.

According to Dr Mohammad Momin Khan, President of the All India Medical Students Association (AIMSA) J-K, nearly all students from Urmia University of Medical Sciences are planning to return. A group of over 30 students has already booked tickets and is expected to reach New Delhi on March 15 via Dubai, while others are scheduled to arrive on March 16.

Israeli health authorities reported 191 injuries in 24 hours amid escalating hostilities with Iran. Over 2,300 people have been hospitalised since 28 February. Additionally, an Iranian missile strike in Yehud killed one person on Monday, according to Al Jazeera, as medical teams continue treating both civilians and soldiers.

In a post on X, the Indian embassy in Saudi Arabia wrote, "It is a matter of relief that there has been no Indian fatality in the unfortunate incident at Al Kharj yesterday evening. The Embassy has been in touch with the concerned Saudi authorities regarding this issue. Counsellor (CW) Shri Y. Sabir visited Al Kharj last night and met the injured Indian national involved in this unfortunate incident. He is currently receiving treatment at a government hospital in Al Kharj."
