Fidel Castro's eldest son commits suicide

Havana [Cuba] Feb 2 (ANI) Fidel Angel Castro Diaz-Balart, the eldest son of late Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro, has committed suicide after battling with depression for months, state-run media reported.

Fidel Castro's eldest son commits suicide

Havana [Cuba] Feb 2 (ANI) Fidel Angel Castro Diaz-Balart, the eldest son of late Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro, has committed suicide after battling with depression for months, state-run media reported.

He was 68.

"Diaz-Balart, who had been attended by a group of doctors for several months due to a state of profound depression, committed suicide this morning," said Cubadebate website.

He had initially been hospitalized for mental illness. Later, he was taken out of hospital but his treatment continued. (ANI)
