Easter bombings: 17 safe houses, 7 training camps of terrorists busted

Colombo [Sri Lanka], May 16 (ANI): Sri Lanka police on Thursday busted several safe houses and training camps in connection with the deadly Easter Sunday attacks, which targeted high-end hotels and churches across the country, killing over 250 people.

Colombo [Sri Lanka], May 16 (ANI): Sri Lanka police on Thursday busted several safe houses and training camps in connection with the deadly Easter Sunday attacks, which targeted high-end hotels and churches across the country, killing over 250 people.
Police spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekara told Colombo Page on Wednesday that the 17 safe houses and 7 training camps were used by the terrorists to plan the eight coordinated bombings which rattled the cities of Colombo, Negombo, Kochchikede and Batticaloa.
Over 500 people were injured in the April 21 attacks.
Police said 85 suspects, including 10 women, were arrested in the raids.
Out of the 85 suspects, 64 are detained in the custody of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and investigations are being carried out, the police added.
They further stated that around 20 suspects are being detained by the Terrorists Investigation Division and investigated. (ANI)
