Earthquake of Magnitude 4.2 hits Xizang

The event titled "Understanding China's System of Political Repression: Voices of Resistance through Art and Journalism" brought together prominent voices critical of China's information control, as reported by Phayul.

It's an event to remember the day when Tibetan women from all three provinces of Tibet, for the first time in the history of Tibet, stood together and raised their voice against the brutal Chinese military forces that were occupying Tibet in 1959.

Supporters of the Tibetan movement from across India gathered in McLeodganj on Wednesday to offer long life prayers for Tibetan spiritual leader Tenzin Gyatso. The prayer ceremony was organised by the Core Group for Tibetan Cause-India, an umbrella body that coordinates various Tibet support groups across the country.

Members of the Tibetan community under the banner of the Tibetan Youth Congress staged a peaceful protest outside the Chinese Embassy in the national capital on Tuesday, demanding freedom for Tibet and the protection of human rights for Tibetans.

As per the NCS, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 165km.
