Dalai Lama meets Russian scientists in Dharamshala

Dharamshala (Himachal Pradesh) [India], May 3 (ANI): Tibetian spiritual leader the Dalai Lama on Thursday met with the Russian scientists at the 2nd Dialogue series with Russian Scientists on 'Understanding the World' at Tsuglagkhang, Dharamshala to for a debate on the universe, evolution and spirituality.

Dharamshala (Himachal Pradesh) [India], May 3 (ANI): Tibetian spiritual leader the Dalai Lama on Thursday met with the Russian scientists at the 2nd Dialogue series with Russian Scientists on 'Understanding the World' at Tsuglagkhang, Dharamshala to for a debate on the universe, evolution and spirituality.

The two-day event in Dharamshala continues a 30-year tradition that brings together Tibetan monks and scientific minds from around the world to discuss fundamental questions, reported Sputnik.

Speaking in-depth on his long association with modern scientists, he averred that there are common scholastic grounds between modern science and Buddhist science, according to the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA).

The first dialogue between Russian Scientists and Buddhist scholars was held in August 2017 on the topic, 'The Nature of Consciousness'.

"The dialogue between scientists and Buddhist philosophers led by His Holiness Dalai Lama was proposed by the spiritual leader of the Tibetan Buddhism," The Dalai Lama's spokesperson Telo Tulku Rinpoche, in Russia, said.

The discussion will be revolved around his 2006 book called 'The Universe in a Single Atom: the Convergence of Science and Spirituality

Each scientist will reportedly make a presentation for 20 minutes, followed by interaction with the Dalai Lama. (ANI)
