Cleric pardoned  for murder of student at Karachi seminary

Karachi [Pakistan], Jan.22 (ANI): Parents of an eight-year-old boy who was thrashed to death at a seminary here, have pardoned the cleric in charge of the institution.

The Dawn quoted a police official, as saying that the cleric was in charge of the seminary located in Karachi's Bin Qasim Town area.

Police, however, have registered a case against the accused Qari Najmuddin under Section 322 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).

Mohammed Hussain, the boy was subjected to corporal punishment in the past, after which he had run away from the seminary. His parents, however, brought him back to the seminary on Friday. When the student tried to flee again, Qari Najmuddin beat him to death with a blunt weapon over the weekend. (ANI)
