New Delhi [India], August 15 (ANI): Delhi Police has registered a case against a woman for trying to obtain a US visa using "fraudulent documents" and started probing the matter.
The US Embassy in India, in its complaint to the Delhi Police on Wednesday, alleged that a woman named Jashandeep Kaur, a resident of Punjab, applied for a non-immigrant visa. She claimed in her online visa application that she was employed as an Administrative Assistant with Kapoor Associates in Haryana from October 19, 2020, to July 31, 2022.
But, during the interview with the US Embassy officials, the accused admitted that had never worked for Kapoor Associates and got the fraudulent documents from another accused named Jaswant Singh, who is her father's friend.
Kaur said she applied for a visa through Singh and Vanshika of KC Overseas Education Karnal and she would be paying Singh Rs 1.5 lakh in case the visa gets issued, the complaint read.
The US Embassy further alleged that Jashandeep Kaur "conspired with Jaswant Singh; Vanshika of KC Overseas Education Karnal to obtain forged/fraudulent education documents to cheat the US Embassy in India and the US Government to obtain a visa based on such forged/fraudulent claims and misrepresentations."
Based on the complaint, the Delhi Police registered a case against accused Jashandeep Kaur, under sections 318(4), 336(3), 340 (2), and 61 (2) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) at the Chanakyapuri Police Station.
Further investigation is underway in the case and more details are awaited. (ANI)
