Phnom Penh [Cambodia], November 9 (ANI/Xinhua): Cambodia reported two imported COVID-19 cases, the Ministry of Health (MoH) spokeswoman said in a press statement on Monday.

The patients, aged 29 and 38, arrived in the Cambodian capital Phnom Penh on October 26 from Japan via a connecting flight in South Korea, said MoH secretary of state and spokeswoman Or Vandine.

"On the 13th day of the quarantine, their samples were taken for a second test and the results showed (on Sunday) that they turned out to be positive for COVID-19," she said. "Currently they are undergoing treatment at the Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital."

According to Vandine, the new patients were on the same flight with two Cambodian citizens who tested positive for the virus upon their arrival.

The Southeast Asian nation has so far recorded a total of 297 confirmed COVID-19 cases, the spokeswoman said, adding that none have died and 288 have recovered. (ANI/Xinhua)
