Anti-terror squad kills 8 suspects in Karachi

Islamabad [Pakistan], October 22 (ANI): Eight suspected terrorists were killed in an encounter by Pakistan's Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in Karachi's Raees Goth area on Saturday night.

The police officials said the encounter was jointly carried out by the Rangers and the CTD, the Dawn reported.

A statement released by the Rangers claimed that the operation was carried out on the basis of technical intelligence about the presence of the Ansarul Sharia Pakistan (ASP) terrorists in the area.

They are still identifying the bodies.

Two of the suspected terrorists have been identified as ASP chief Sheheryar and Arsalan Baig, a member of the ASP's target-killing team. (ANI)
