A coalition of public servants continued its protest for a third consecutive day on Thursday, deepening embarrassment for a provincial setup already accused of moving slowly on employee welfare. The Grand Alliance, an umbrella platform of teachers and workers from several departments has refused to budge without legally binding notifications. Demonstrators began gathering early in the day at the main entrance, waving placards and chanting against recent policy decisions. Though the agitation stayed non-violent, heavy policing and diversions choked traffic around the administrative zone, as reported by The Express Tribune.

Director General of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui, reviewed election security in Dhaka ahead of the February 12 parliamentary polls. Authorities reported completed preparations, extensive security deployment, and a positive environment, though concerns remain in some areas. Results are expected on February 13.

The meeting was chaired by Co-chair of the Australian All-Party Parliamentary Group for Tibet, Susan Templeman MP, and was attended by other members of the group, including Senator Dean Smith, Senator Barbara Pocock, Senator Deborah O'Neill, Dr Sophie Scamps MP, David Smith MP and Kate Chaney MP. Also present at the meeting were Representative Karma Singey and Chinese Liaison Officer Dawa Sangmo from the Tibet Information Office, along with Dr Zoe Bedford from the Australia Tibet Council, according to the CTA report.
